Home ab workout: crunch exercise for 6-pack abs

forum.scoobysworkshop.com Got fitness questions? Check out the free askscooby forum! Don’t let the TV ads convince you to buy some bulky contraption that will gather dust in your closet, crunches are safe and effective! This video clip shows how to do crunches with varying degrees of difficulty based on your ability. Remember that ab exercises alone will not give you abs! If you have the best abs in the world they will be completely invisible if you are overweight. Aerobic exercise and proper diet are even more important than ab exercises in getting that sought after 6-pack. Form is very important in crunches, many people do them incorrectly and end up working out their neck or hips more than their abs. Use slow movements and only use the abs. Concentrate on trying to raise your shoulders straight up towards the ceiling. Don’t worry about how many reps you do but focus on using perfect form. No whipping the head around or flapping your arms! This is not a sit-up either, the hips are stationary. Also important is to minimize any tension in the neck, I do this by very lightly supporting my head with my hands or the weight plate The main reason to workout abs is because strong abs stabilize your lower back and shield you from injury but as a side benefit a 6-pack looks great! For more ab exercises scoobysworkshop.comAnyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take

    The BEST LOWER ABS Exercise

    http://TheBestWayToExercise.Blogspot.com

“Hanging Hip Lifts” is one of the most challenging exercises for preferential activation of the “lower” abdominal muscles. The secret in performing this movement correctly is the rotation of the hips and a distinct pause at the top of each repetition.

Your abs contract on a continuum of graduated activation, in this case, from lower to upper. You cant totally isolate a specific region, but you can focus on it… and this exercise is phenomenal if you want to contract your abs from the bottom up. The key is to make these as slow and as deliberate as possible.

    6-pack Abs by July 4th!

Its not too late, you can still get 6-pack abs in time for beach weather this summer! Getting 6-pack abs is quite simple but requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Two things you need to do to get 6-pack abs. The first is to do ab exercises but that isnt as important as you might think. The second, and most important thing you need to do to get 6-pack abs is to lose weight.

Lets quickly cover the losing weight part. Remember, this is the most important thing to get 6-pack abs. To lose weight you need to eat less and do more cardio. I have lots of videos on nutrition and weight loss, you can view them by clicking here:

    http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=59B036EB66B488D3

A valuable tool in helping you lose weight is a free iPod touch/iPhone application called “Lose It!” by FitNow If you are not good at reading nutritional labels or good with numbers then this application will really help you lose your weight on schedule. This application lets you enter your current weight, your target weight, and how strict you are willing to be with your diet. You then enter how much cardio you do and it gives you a daily calorie allocation. You then can enter everything you eat and make sure that you keep on track for your weight loss goal.

If you dont have an iPhone or Lose It is not available in your country then try the free “Hackers Diet” website. You can sign up for a free account at:

    https://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/HackDiet/

Now lets talk about the ab exercises. Here is a good little workout that takes less than 10 minutes and I would do it 3 times a week.

crunch, as many as you can do
bicycle, as many as you can do
hanging leg raise, as many as you can do
    rest and redo 3x

Thats it. As I said, getting 6-pack abs is quite simple but takes a lot of hard work especially because of the cardio and strict nutrition required. The cool thing is that by losing weight you can make a rapid and amazing body transformation! Adding muscle takes years to have a noticable effect but by getting 6-pack abs you can go from invisible to show-stopper in a handfull of weeks! And please make sure to take “before pictures” so when you get your 6-pack abs you can email them to me so I can put them on the scoobysworkshop.com “success stories” page on my website! I want YOU to get ripped by July 4th.

Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. Hand Position During Ab Exercises

    http://www.scoobysworkshop.com

Every time I do an ab video the subject of what to do with the hands comes up. I show how I think the hands should be held during ab exercisees and I lots of irate viewers telling me I am wrong. In this video I’m going to explain WHY the hands should be held lightly behind the head during crunches.

First of all, humans evolved to walk upright with the head held high. For tens of thousands of years humans have been gathering berries, hunting. All vertical, kinda balancing our heads on top of our bodies.

So When the body becomes horizontal, what happens? The head falls.
To couteract this the neck muscles have to work really hard to keep the head stationary. Our neck muscsles have not evolved to support the head horizontally like those of a lion or horse. If a person stays in this position long, they will get serious muscle strain. Now I can hear you saying, “well you need to work on your neck strength” – thats TRUE but dont let that interfere with your ab workout. Strengthen you neck during your neck workout, not during your ab workout.

So here is what you need to do when performing crunches. You lift up with your hands just enough so that you can relax your neck muscles and still have your head stay horizontal. You dont push so hard that your head wants to fly up and you dont let it droop.

Another misconception is about leverage. Many people think that its just as good a workout to hold the hands over the abs as it is to have the hands behind the head – WRONG! Leverage is the reason. Similarly, holding a 25lb plate over your chest is much easier than holding it behind your head when you are doing crunches.

Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn’t have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts.
